2020 may not have been the year we expected, however over at Crafted Pine Co HQ there is one thing we can always rely on: Baby Name Blocks topping our bestseller list every year. Even in 2020, with a pandemic and our retail store opening, we can announce they did it again!
As unsurprised as we are to see them top our sales once again, we understand the predictability. Our Name Blocks have a winning combination that make them the absolute ideal gift:
1. Firstly, they are personalised with any name, making them incredibly thoughtful. As we create them to order, we can personalise for unusual spellings and unique names - even names chosen by Elon Musk!
2. They are customised with a choice of 30 colours to mix and match for a perfect combo, suitable for every taste.
3. They are made from beautiful pine, with a natural grain ensuring every block is completely unique.
4. And finally, they are handcrafted, from our family to yours, for a quality gift that lasts.
In honour of our bestseller, we are sharing our most popular baby names and our most popular colours from 2020 to inspire your next gift.
Most popular baby names
Most popular name block colours
- Dusky Pink
- Duck Egg
We had a weighting towards female names last year, so it is no surprise to see so many pinks in our top 10. The most popular colours, grey and white, are our neutral shades and they tend to be selected alongside the bolder colours to create an appealing set of blocks, so its no surprise to see these so high on our list.
Top tips from the team
We asked the team for their top tips to help you get the most from your next set of blocks.
Think about your future décor as well as current decor
When buying name blocks, either for yourself or as a gift, remember to think about current room décor but also future room décor, as our blocks are built to last. If you have a pink bedroom, choose Blush or White as a neutral and mix with Rose or Raspberry for a pop of colour. Similarly, if you’re looking for blues, choose Duck Egg or White for your neutral and mix in Teal or Midnight. Alternatively, there are some timeless colour combinations that match every colour scheme, such as Pink or Blue with White or Slate.
Choose two or three colours to achieve a well balanced and pleasing set of blocks. We recommend one muted, one striking, and one to bond them together. Some of our favourite combinations include:
- Pink, white and grey
- Midnight and Slate
- Slate and Lilac
- Slate, Duck Egg and White
- Pink, Sage and White
Add picture blocks
Once you have chosen your colours and you have your name, complete your set with a picture block on either end of the name, or to stack on top of the name. Choose pictures that represet their personality, such as dinosaurs, cars, butterflies, crowns, love hearts and crowns.
